What are you doing with it? All you are doing is opening it, right? Or are you opening a particular file?

I'm just opening Sphere Studio itself not a file

4. Sphere lexer.

I guess my editor could use better error reporting here but that might be a start to your problem - which I've never encountered. Maybe it was a packaging issue? Tomorrow I'll investigate further.

But your game may be using an older version of a task list. Check to see if you have one in the project you are editing.
